First "scratch" coat being literally scratched to form a key for the second finish layer. Both mixes have waterproofing liquid incorporated to make them weatherproof.

Finish coat, put onto a manageable area and pebbledashed quickly while still wet. For this you need a bucket of tiny stone fragments and a coal shovel. A sheet is spread underneath to catch the surplus.
